When very little children first encounter the power of language they are shocked and amazed. They hear others around them using language forcefully whether positively or negatively - children very soon pick up on the fact that people use words to create effect and emphasize meaning.
As a result and in a supreme but vastly inexperienced effort to emulate (and by so doing so, hope to absorb) that power those children will repeat the words they have heard. They thrill in hearing others say them. They confuse mere words with true power.
