Negril is a 1 1/2 hr. drive from Montego Bay. if you do not have pre-arranged transfer arrangements (which you can make through your hotel or resort) you can easily get a Coaster Bus for US$20.00 per person or a private taxi for US$60.00 for 2 people or single. US$20.00 for each additional person. As soon as you exit Customs you will see JUTA representatives (Jamaica Union of Travelers Association). You will recognize them by their white shirts and red pants. They will assist you in obtaining your final passage to Negril. Here is their website http://www.jutatoursnegrilltd.com/

Montego Bay to Negril... The best way is definitely by bus. It won't take you more than 3 hours - fairly smooth ride. Negril to Ocho Rios is a bit long though - more than 5 1/2...

Yes there are buses, but its not as organized as you would find them in the states, some can be over pack, but most of the drivers are defensive ones,no matter how fast they speed, you will be safe.
But it would be a whole lot better if you had your own ride, that could take you were ever you wish in a heart beat, but that too can cost you,or you may wanna, try to go by the all inclusive system, were tour buses operate.
But it all depends on what your business in Jamaica will be and what you like,or what you can handle.

There are buses that will take you anywhere in the island. Just be prepared for the long journey though. There are also taxis but they will be more expensive than the bus. If, however you can afford it, you can always opt to take a plane between the various cities.

Yes you can get buses, taxes or even cares to rent from the air port. Jamaica is a wonderful place so traveling on group tours are usually educational and fun. or may prefer to charter a taxi to carry you to the major hot spots. for more info visit the link below.
