The Canadians in the old forum. If you have ever heard a player talk about walking into the locker room and seeing all the old players looking down at you and how it made them feel about being the best every shift. That is a legacy!!!!!!!
DYNASTY I would go with 80 to 83 Islanders or wait the 84 to 88 Oilers hard to say for sure both where great teams that ruled the ice.

All the original 6.

A legacy/dynasty should not be based on Cup wins.

These teams have been around for 80-100 years and are worthy of being labeled either. Teams in any sport that survived and continued to operate after WW I, WW II, and the Great Depression should be not excluded from the term either.

Unfortunately, even though I am not a Canadiens fan..I would have to say that they are perhaps the greatest sports franchise of all time. They are to hockey what the Yankees are to baseball, except without the budget and hoopla...

I would argue that the greatest dyansty team of all-time could be the mid 80's Edmonton Oilers though...If it could have been possible to keep that team together, who knows?...7 - 8 Stanley cups?

Montreal Canadiens. I also like how the New Jersey Devils manage to stay at the top and win it all every so many years.

Unlike a certain team that finds itself in "chocking" situations.

Canadians with out a doubt....could even be considered best legacy of any sport with the amount of time they have been to the playoffs and the amount of time they have won the cup (most of any team) just makes them the best
