Blasphemy! There you go trying to pull back the curtain and expose the Great and Powerful Oz. Seriously though, political ideology is very real, but if you look at the power structures behind both parties you find striking similarities and in some cases the same powerful contributors on both campaign contribution lists. I do not believe this is designed with the aim of keeping the people against each other though. It is more a matter of playing both sides against the middle in order to serve their own objectives no matter who is in power.

I think it is the extremists on both sides who are so determined to have their way that they think nothing of other people. Extremists who have no problems playing one group of Americans off against the other. I even saw it among some of the more extreme elements of the Democrats - who instead of being happy that the Democrats won were angry because the Democrats who did win weren't Democrat enough for them.

I would say its more of the libs and the evangelicials that make the smoke screen dems and reps are actually pretty close in many views
