My major is Psychology with a minor in Spanish. I really like helping people and I love little kids and once I learned what School Psychologist did, I knew that's what I wanted to do!

I started as a Political Science major intending it to be a pre-legal course of study. I switched to comparative literature after one semester because politics is based on compromise and not principle. After two years, I switched to Zoology/Entomology because I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere wit English. I enjoyed the science studies and research. With a job in science after graduation, I was content for a short while. Then I sought for a Master's program and ended up in Environmental Planning because that is what best fit my schedule and interests. After that, I worked in environmental protection and natural resource protection. That lasted for a few years until I reverted back to my roots and applied to law school. I thought I would specialize in environmental and land use law to build upon my previous studies and labors. I ended up working as an estate planning attorney and now I am a transportation planner for Caltrans.
The point of all this is to show you that a plan is good but it is no guarantee of what you will be doing for the rest of your life.
Best wishes.

Mine was professional writing with an emphasis in technical writing. I knew it was right for me because I went to the advisor and told them I liked writing and computers. She pulled out a flyer explaining the major and it sounded perfect. I liked the classes and my internship and now I like my job, so I definitely think I made the right choice.

When I was in college, I had a double major. Psych/pre-law. I knew psychology was right for me, because everyone in my family was screwed up, and I wanted to find out why, and what I could do about it.

Now, my major is life!

It was Nursing. I have finished school. I would open the help wanted ads in my local newspaper and there were pages and pages of ads needing nurses.
