A way of organizing information. Usually used with short stories or novels, as well as with writeing assignments. Can be a word web, Venn diagram, etc.
An example- for a writing assignment: Put your main topic or topic sentence in the middle. Draw lines off of this to write supporting ideas. Then list facts under supporting ideas. When you go to write, you have everything organized and don't have to stop writing to decide if this fact should go here or there.
