Just recently I've had to let go of a lot of friends I've had in high school. Now that life has moved on and I've realized my goals and in college, we're all going our seperate ways. Which is fine with me. How can I meet and make more female friends or just new people in general?

I'm just looking for new friends!

Go out, strike up conversations with other girls. Your best bet is people who are in the same classes you are in, because you see them often. Compliment them, but don't make it seem like your despirate for friends either.

Go places of interest to you, start conversations w/others, seek out others that you have common interests with. If you're at Barnes & Noble & you see someone reading a book you'd like to know about, ask them. Get involved in a church young adults group, usually they have great activites & usually nice people. Or if you work out somewhere, you'll probably see the same people regularly who are on a similar schedule as you - seek them out, it'll happen. Just be friendly (but always discerning.) good girl.

The best way to meet and keep friends is to possess the qualities of a friend yourself. Of course, this means being a willing listener, Show integrity and honesty and value the relationships you make with people. People have a tendency to gravitate to those who have engaging personalities.
