Praying is like knocking on a door. We have no way of knowing what is on the other side.

A Prayer is the conscious mind making a request of the Sub-Conscious mind. The Sub-conscious of course is the Horse and the Conscious the Jockey. Or I could try to make it easier to understand if some don't comprehend.

Your mind is an iceberg the conscious is the peak (a very small part of the iceberg above the water, which is visible) and the Sub-Conscious mind is the part under the water which can't be seen.
Your mind is the most powerful thing you own. Your mind thinks in pictures and GRAVITATES TOWARDS what you think about most, this includes negative things aswell as positive.

Which is why some American Christian Fundamentalists who live sub-lives in 'MOO MOO' land, and have never stepped foot out of their respective states, believe that prayer sometimes works. All they have in fact done is TOLD THEMSELVES (in the Sub-Conscious act) what they would like and low and behold.....

C'mon China hurry up and take over!

SAYING a PRAYER with pure thoughts and with all love and repect for the almighty,is like knocking the door and the door will open for you.
BUT if you don`t have above said qualities in your prayer then it might take more time for the almighty to look at you or attend your prayer.
but still you will be heard......one day.

Since prayer is an act of FAITH you would actually be knocking on a door made of Faith, that leads to a room filled with God (Or whatever you believe).

No prayer is like knocking on a door filled with everything you want in life but it all depends on your level of faith and belief before you can really get what you want. And it is not an empty room because when you pray it goes in to heaven and then God answers you because he is always listening.

Not really. Even if there were nothing on the other side, the act of speaking out and of feeling that we are being listened to affects how we perceive and react to our circumstances. So the act of praying opens us to accept the result or our prayer as the fit and proper resolution of the problem.

NO!!! Just open your heart, and open your mind as you will often get an answer that you do not expect. Sometimes the answers to your prayers can come in small tidbits instead of one big answer.

No, praying is more like calling God directly. As long as you remember to listen. And, as long as you have faith and honestly believe in the power and concept of prayer.
