I don't think that depression usually lacks "feeling", in fact I believe that it does in fact have an enormous amount of feelings, but ones that are very sad.
I think the opposite of depression would be something like at peace, or serenity.

As if rules of gravity follow on human mind as good. It's effortless and possible to get down commonly, or continually, however it is difficult to remain up as a rule. That you would be able to boost a state of regular despair however I do not believe there is anything like state of consistent happiness, euphoria, elation, excitement or pleasure and so forth. Each regular unhappiness and steady happiness usually are not typical to human mind - where a state of steady happiness is in basic terms a utopian inspiration. However by the legal guidelines of gravity - mental gravity on this case - one can be depressed or down for a very long time. And the joyful and pleased states of intellect come and go – they always go before they come again. The typical state is to believe both forms of temper and this is how this all is balanced out in our mind. A constant state of disappointment can't be balanced by a so-known as steady state of happiness. This what drugs strive do?

Depression is a mental disorder and it can be caused by chemical imbalance or an event. I suffer from severe depression and I take meds but they don't work really. I also take another medication which relieves adhd. When I take that I feel great and can handle almost any problem that comes up. I would say an opposite would be overjoyed but its not a disorder it just describes a feeling.

Depression is extreme sadness. It's not lack of feeling. It's basically the opposite. When you talk about depression, you talk about a mix of various feelings and restless emotions. But it depends on the case, since sometimes depression can refer to emotional numbness as well.

The opposite can be extreme happiness or an extremely active behaviour.

I would say that because depression is a mental illness then the only opposite of it would be lack of a mental illness. (For example, the only opposite of a broken leg has to be a non-broken leg.)

Another way to look at is within the context of bi-polar disorder, in which people go from depression to manic and back. In this case, the opposite would be manic.

Well I'd think "mania." People have a lot of energy and often think they're pretty terrific and important. People usually cycle between depression and mania (hence bipolar illness) and it's a very serious illness. Lithium and various antiseizure medications can help keep it under control, and sometimes people have to take antipsychotics too. I have a friend who's bipolar and she's a terrific person and under good control.
