It seem perfectly fine for people to say we should ban young people from wearing hoodies in certain places because it causes offence and makes people wary of them so why should muslim women get to wear the veil when the same can be said of this.

I have heard that muslim women who dont can get raped and beaten if they dont in accordance with sharia law. If thats the case sharia law should be outlawed and made a criminal offence if acts in the name of it are commited. Therefore muslim women who dont will have less to fear and those who do will have to learn to adapt.

What do you think

Tish actually no i am not familier with the bill of rights and whats it got to do with freedom of religion. I beleive the law of the land comes so much further ahead of the law of religion. You have to obey the law of the land, you choose to obey the law of religion. THERES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

The Bill of Rights doesnt exist in Britain. Im not sure what our version is

It is a tricky issue. I say, do not ban the burka or veil but mandate that your face must be shown when driving or for your driving license.

That is fair because some of those veils obscure too much of the road.

1. I believe people should have the freedom to choose what they want to wear/cover, however, only when it doesn't obstruct with other people's life.
e.g. I think the Hijab wearing teacher in England was not doing her job properly because her students couldn't hear her due to her veil. Therefore she failed her profession (to educate young children) by wearing her veil. She can wear her veil, just don't be a elementary level teacher.
e.g.2, Due to a few thief/robbery carried out by burgua clad women (police suspect, few are actually men) in jewelry shops in Pune India, the shop owners want to demand security check with any person who covers their faces. Even these events were captured by store security camera, they have no way of identify the villains. This is like ban hoods in banks etc. I think it's fair enough. The shop should have the power to hire a woman security personnel to check people who cover their faces. That will also ensure that the other veil cladding women can shop more comfortably. (Not to be viewed constantly with suspicion.)
2. There are Muslim countries that doesn't practise Sharia law. Not all Muslim are backward-thinking/woman-abusing people.

I think you have to consider that some Muslim women want to wear the veil as part of their religious beliefs.

it is thier religious belief to cover thier faces. Although I agree with another one here, they should be exposed for driver's license etc. But not just walking in public or anything.
