I can't spell and have difficulty with math, but my reading is above average. Dyslexia is where one side of your brain doesn't work as well as the other for me my left side doesn't work as well.
I was severely dyslexic when I was younger but I have always hated it when other people comment about it, despite being dyslexic I got all A's on my GCSE's apart from 1 B+ which I couldn't believe, even though I had tried really hard I actually thought that there had been a mistake and checked it with my teachers when I got my results. And I got all A's on my A levels.
I know there are people on here that see that I can't spell and tell me that I’m 10 y/o and that I should grow up, I got that said to me when I was 5 and there are 30 y/o men saying it? So why do you assume it? I don't judge by that I judge by what I know about a person.

People that assume that you are stupid because you're dyslexic are just ignorant! Don't let the turkeys get you down! Just use spell check, and keep on trucking!

This is 2006, surely the days of assuming people with dyslexia are stupid or 'retarded' (I really hate that word) should be long gone. People who make such assumptions are the ones who are ignorant and need to drag themselves into the twenty-first century.

You are not stupid you are gifted, why? because you choose to excell in life no matter what the obstacle was before you, so to me that is a gift of strength and wisdom to know that you are cape able no matter what. Some people never reach the point of perseverance that you have their whole lives so they choose to judge and put down others to build themselves up continue not to be a stepping stone for them and keep up the good work. And when you get asked that question again simply say "I do not choose to dignify that question with an answer" and walk away.

You don't come across as stupid to me.... in fact, your post is one of the more coherent one's I've seen on YA.
If it helps at all, I can kind of relate. I don't have dyslexia, I have fibromyalgia. It makes me so tired all the time and people assume that I'm lazy. Hardly!! I have a full-time job, a part-time job, 3 dogs, 4 horses, a husband, and a house to keep up. AND I try to take very good care of myself - cook everything from scratch, workout, etc.
Don't let other's get you down - they're not worth it!!

Knowing a bit about dyslexia I can understand your frustration with reading and writing and strongly suggest you use spell check, that will reduce the instances of spelling errors. Good luck.

Actually, there are quite a few people who are very intelligent and have dyslexia. What you should do is work on the things you have trouble with, not just ignore them since you aren't as good at them.

No, regardless of the indisputable fact that it really is my perception some (maximum individuals of their base, not the right 15% of the U. S. inhabitants) do exactly not have the time to study the problem and to tutor themselves on their leaders, and their leaders recognize it. at the same time as they have brainwashed you into questioning they are solid for the country and also you, you basically take them as honest. Pity, yet i became one among them until eventually i began taking the time to study the themes. "I see interior the close to destiny a disaster drawing close that unnerves me and motives me to tremble for the protection of my united states of america. . . . businesses were enthroned and an era of corruption in severe places will keep on with, and the money ability of the country will project to advance its reign through operating upon the prejudices of the individuals until eventually all wealth is aggregated in some palms and the Republic is destroyed." -- U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864 (letter to Col. William F. Elkins) Ref: The Lincoln Encyclopedia, Archer H. Shaw (Macmillan, 1950, vast apple)

Don't let people get to you! An attorney in my office has dyslexia. She has to print out what she sees on the computer and actually see the paper in front of her to catch mistakes or make changes. You can acheive any goal you set your mind on. Best wishes!

You aren't to blame for being dyslexic and I don't think that you are stupid at all. You actually seem better than a lot of students...
