I'm an Asian, and I would like to pursue a history degree in the US. I also plan to complete my PhD in the States. Can I teach in American universities without being an American citizen, i.e. keeping my original native citizenship?

I would really appreciate informative answers.

Thank You.

Peace and Love.

Absolutely! If a university is interested in your capacities, they will arrange for a work permit while you are in the US.

Yes, you can keep your citizenship, provided you get permission (Green Card) from the US government to stay and work here.

The universities don't care about your citizenship.

You will probably teach during your PhD studies as a way to pay for your education.
