1934 is a good place to start. Hitler did not get the majority of the votes in the elections, he just got more than anyone else.

The Nazis began to have a large influence in Germany right after the Great Depression started. The German economy collapsed and the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazis) gave the German people a scapegoat for their problems by putting out the propoganda that it was the fault of the Jews and the Bolsheviks. So, then they had more success in politics and gained more influence because they had started gaining the support of desperate people.

My answer would be June 30, 1934. This is what is called the "night of the long knives." Also, Ernst Rohm was killed, that day, and therefore his SA (brownshirts) group could no longer be deemed a threat to Hitler and the rest of the Nazi party.
