My future wife and I each have 2 children from previous marriages. How do you account for their future inheritance? We both have some money, though at some point we'll buy a house together with some of that from each.

Anything else that should be a consideration?

nking: I'm looking at more of what happens to my children in the event of my death...setting up for their child support, inheritance, etc. As I understand it, if I do nothing, then my new wife gets everything and has no obligation to support my children. It's not that I don't trust her...but what if we both die...or I die 1 day before her? These are the questions I hope to take care of in a prenuptial...not planning on divorce.

Put EVERYTHING in the prenup....have everything and every contingency spelled to the letter. See a lawyer! All this just saves hassles later and you will both sleep better. Do not pay attention to those who tell you that if you really love each other a pre nup is not needed.....

Yeah, consider the fact that you are entering a sacred union with legal papers written already for a divorce.
Whats the point?

To draw a pre-nup, you need to talk to an attorney. He will explain you everything you need to know, and more than you could ever think you would want to know.

This is a matter best discussed with an attorney. He/she can help you iron all of this out and make the best decisions for you and your family.

Good luck!
