England are known as a team that entertains when playing yet never achive results. On the other hand Italy play the slowest and most boring football yet achive results.

People may say Italy is better cos they won the world cup but to be realistic England is fairly better than Italy.

I myself watch the Premiership a lot as English club football is the best in the world. Just look at this years Champions leage where all 4 English teams won their groups.
I really dislike Italian football because all they do is fall (dive) all the time and the game gets stoped by all the freekicks that take place for the smallest of fouls.
However, the premiership relies mostly on non English players. For example, the 4 English teams only started with 13 English players for their last Champions Leage game. United had 6 of these. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool 7 togheter.
So it is not the English players that make the Premiership so good but the foreign players. That is why Englands national team isn't any good and if it wasn't for the succes of English clubs (with foreign players), England wouldnt even be close to the top 10 FIFA ranking!
Italy, however boring they may play ( think they played OK this World cup) is the better team...

I think that the Italian league is way better than the English league. Look at the skill level of both leagues, and if you really know soccer, you can see the difference. The style of English play doesn't really make it better, sometimes when the skill level isn't high, that's the type of game that you get. The Italian league this year has had a lot of very exciting games.
In my opinion, these guys like Beckham and Owen, they are so hyped but what significant thing have they really done other than sell a ton of jerseys?
I think English soccer is good, they have done well in recent years in international club tournaments and their national team has done reasonably well also.
English soccer has to accomplish something at a very high level in order to get recognition as a world soccer power. Until then, don't even think about comparing them to the 4 time world champions!

Italy because their team is made up of all good players, England is just spotlighted becuase of David Beckham.
