The blu-ray can hold an impressive amount of data (50gb) while the hd-dvd can hold a decent amount (9gb). Now here is my real question, if a game comes out both on the 360 and the ps3 that is lets say 35gb. Would you rather the blu-ray on one disc rather than or the hd-dvd version that can be simply put onto seperate discs? Back in the original playstation days i remember playing final fantasy seven on four seperate discs, It didnt cost me anymore than a regular game and it didnt bother me a bit to change the discs when prompted. what do you think?

In addition to all arguements, there is also the steep price difference between formats. I believe the 360 is currently working on a price-drop and added features for their revised xbox that will be released. I am sure the PS3 will have some really good games that I will want to play, yet the 360 seems to be stealing some thunder when it comes to exculsives.

You have been slightly misinformed. The PS3 does in fact use the blueray discs, but unfortunately the 360 does not use HD-DVD. In fact the games themselves are on regular DVD's for right now. To play HD-DVD's you need to buy an extra add-on which will cost you around $250 on top of the cost of the 360, and then it will only play movies unless Microsoft makes an upgrade to play HD-DVD games. The PS3 on the other hand uses Blueray to play games along with playing the movies. The PS3 games are also not region coded meaning you can play games from other country's without mods. Go with the PS3 in the future good games are going to need the space. Look at PC games already take a ton of space, and HD games have been on the computer for a long time now.

Actually 9gb is for regular dvd's while hd-dvd's hold 30 gb max. I prefer Blu-ray because the changing of discs during game play takes away from the gaming experience, not much, but it does. Out the box 360 can only play dvds, not hd-dvds. I read somewhere that Resistence: Fall of Man for ps3 was about 16 gb, which would not have fit on a Xbox 360 dvd. I believe that Blu-ray will be the ultimate winner in the format war and that PS3 will win in the long run.

Don't forget to mention the price difference on the systems. Have we become so lazy that changing a CD two times over the course of a 60 hour game is a big deal? Blu-ray may be the wave of the future when it comes to DVD formats, but not many are willing to pay for it.

Lets just state the obvious. Sony screwed up big-time. Walk into Best Buy and there is a stack of PS3's five feet tall where it appears as if not a one has been picked up.

I'd say go with the PS3. It may not have many impressive games at the moment but in the long run it'll really start to gather some ground. Changing discs wasn't ever really a problem for me in the old PSX games but with the more memory that the Blu-Ray discs can hold, less likely you'll have to change 'em and more likely you'll have a longer, more enjoyable game.

regrettably no, till your some hackzor modder who can placed a blu-raychronic in an xbox doupt is accessible yet i'd be incorrect, nope. yet you could purchase high-quality video clips off the markplace. Sorta the same. Ps3 however can play blu-ray.
