My love for my husband versus my love for my parents are completely different. Your parents are the ones who gave you life, taught you the basics and practically made you who you are. Your husband/wife is the one you partner up with to tackle life together, make love and children together and is your best friend for your remaining life.

I love them both tremendously, but my parents have done so much for me and have been there with me through everything, so I'd have to say that I do love them a little bit more. Although I love my husband in different ways. It's a tough call really.

Once you get married, I think you are making the conscious choice and promise to love your spouse over anyone - including your parents (with the exception of your children). This may sound harsh, but you're parents stick by you because they're family - your spouse sticks by you - by choice. You're leaving your "old" family (you being the child of your parents), to start your own "new" family (you being the "dad"). I think a lot of young married couples go through this because somewhere deep down they want to be the center in both families and don't want to give up either one. You're spouse comes first - always.

It's totally different. You probably have more appreciation and nostalgia for your parents, but passion and growing adoration for your spouse.
But the Bible says "a man shall leave his mother...", so you're supposed to love your wife more, in a tiebreaker! ;)
Personally, I hate any conflicts between them b/c I love all 3.
