First: factor the denominators...

[2/5w + 10] - [3/2w - 4]
[2/5(w + 2)] - [3/2(w - 2)]

*Determine the (LCD) Least Common Denominator > combine all the denominators > (5)(w + 2)(2)(w - 2) ...

Sec: multiply each denominator by the missing terms to get the LCD > and then multiply the same missing terms by the numerator...

[(2)(w-2)(2)]/[(2)(w-2)(5)(w+2)] - [(5)(w+2)(3)]/[(5)(w+2)(2)(w-2)]

*Combine the numerators...

[2(2)(w-2)]/[(2)(5)(w-2)(w+2)] - [5(3)(w+2)]/[5(2)(w+2)(w-2)]

[4(w - 2)]/[10(w - 2)(w + 2)] - [15(w + 2)]/[10(w - 2)(w + 2)]

[4w - 8]/[10(w - 2)(w + 2)] - [15w + 30]/10(w - 2)(w + 2)]

Third: combine the numerators...

[4w - 8 - 15w - 30]/10(w - 2)(w + 2)

[-11w - 38]/10(w - 2)(w + 2)

first team each of the w's and numbers jointly. so it would want to be: 2/5w-3/2w+10-4 now you may come across a effortless denominator for 2/5 and three/2. the most obtrusive you are able to nonetheless be 10. so u change the fractions to 4/10w-15/10w+10-4. then you definitely remedy from left to accurate: 4/10w-15/10w+10-4 -11/10+6 or -a million a million/10w +6

= 2(2w - 4) - 3(5w+10) / (5w +10)(2w - 4)
= 4w - 8 - 15w -30 / (5w +10)(2w - 4)
= -11w - 38 / (5w +10)(2w - 4) = answer.

that answer should be acceptable. i don't think you need to expand the eq of the LCD.

2/(5w+10)-3/(2w+4)=0 <=> 2(2w+4) -3(5w+10)=0 => 4w+8-15w-30=0 => -11w-22=0 => -11w=22 => -w=22/11 <=> -w=2 <=> w=-2 this is the solution :)

2(2w-4) - 3(5w+10)/5w+10(2w-4)
4w-8-15w-30/10w^2-20w+20w-40

okay, so you have

2/5(w+2) - 3/2(w-2)

The least common denominator is 2 * 5 * (w+2) (w-2)
Multiplying both fractions to get to the LCD for both:

2*2*(w-2)/LCD - 3*5*(w+2) / LCD

(4w-8 - 15w-30)/LCD
(-11w-38)/LCD
