An open table is an available table, one where there are no guests and that can be seated.

(Some tables have no guests but are not really "open". They are reserved for a party who will arrive in five, ten, fifteen, etc... minutes.)

It's also a computer system some restaurants use for tracking orders and reservations. If a restaurant asks if you know Open Table, that's what they mean.

Otherwise, it's just that--an open table (not filled by guests).

Open table CAN mean it's ready to be sat again, but in the system restaurants use to ring in orders, open table, or open check means there is an order rang in on it at the moment
