1 1/2 = 1.5. it's 1.5, because you take 1, then you take half of 1, which is 0.5
1.5 * 4 = 6

I believe that says one and a half times 4. If that is correct, then you take the mixed fraction and make if 3/2. Multiply this by 4 to get 12/2, which simplifies to 6.
