I work 40 hours per week 8-5 in a job that is not all that related to my business admin major. I just started back this semester and I am working full time and taking 12 credit hours. Is there any advice anyone can give me on how they survived it or how to manage time. All of my course are online, however, it seems like they require more time than an actual class sometimes. I just get to make my own schedule when i do it, but there is more homework. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Listen not easy i did 18 hours at college and 40 - 55 hours per week working....Plan for a semester of doing nothing. The best thing i did was sat down and made a schedule when you work and when you study.Even map out when your going to eat...It takes alot of disipline. Get ahead on ALL of your classes dont put off today the quicker you can jump up the better off you are...Use every resource the professors give you...ask questions to them most will respond quickly and use your online forum with your class they will become your best ally's. Weekends are very important work on school work one day all day take the other off this helps with your sanity.. I did it for 2 years so its possible and now im done and it was totally worth it....Good Luck you can email me if you have any other questions....

I worked a 9-5pm job and took 4 classes, with still a child to care for and a home to keep in order. What worked for me was a lot of PRAYER. I was out the house by 7:20am and home by almost 10pm. My weekends were dedicated to school work and the little family time I had. If you are driven, you can do it. Just stay focused. As the others who posted said, the homework will get more and more demanding and it will be more challenging. However, you can do it. Stay positive and be proud of yourself. Best wishes!

It is going to take alot of time. There is no way around that. Make sure that you schedule time every day/night to work on your classwork. And make it more than just your lunch break! However, I would also suggest having one day in which you do not do classwork, but focus instead on family or activities that you enjoy. This will help you fight burnout. You also might consider cutting down to 9 hours per semester. It's only one class less, but will free up more time for you.

I have to applaud you for what you are doing. I went to med school worked full time while I was pregnant. It wasn't easy. I worked up to the day I gave birth too. I am going to school right now and tried to work only part time and couldn't even do that. As you go from block to block the work is harder and harder. You can cut back on your hours and get grants to help pay for school and your living costs. That is what I did. They help pay for rent and stuff like that. You should talk to your counselor. I think that your education should come first.

I would work on my classes during slow-times at my job. Maybe you can talk to your boss and tell them if you can get a couple hours off so you can 'better' yourself and that it is in the 'best interest' of the company for you to advance in your major.
