well i'm 5'2-5'3 and i weigh approximately 107lbs. 4 years earlier i weighed in at 125lbs, i experienced depression big time. and when i get depressed i don't eat, well i stopped eating and i lost about 32 pounds. lets just say i lost about 7 pounds a week i got down to 93lbs. Over a 3 year period i have only gained 14 pounds i'm still really thin. I have tried to gain weight unsuccesfully. I have tried everything shakes, fast food twice a day, 3 meals a day with snacking in between and i will gain about 2 or 3 pounds and loose it again within a day. I have stopped having periods it has been over a year since i have had one. i'm 20 years old. I have been to the doctor have had tests done including thyroid everything is perfect. why can't i gain any weight, I use to be able to gain weight like nothing befor i drastically lost all that weight. can someone help me out. please would only like answers from people 21 and over.. thanks soo much

You are trying to gain back weight the wrong way hun. Dont gorge on yucky unhealthy foods. Just try increaseing calories slowly. Try high protien, and high fat foods like peanut butter, cream cheese, pastas, potatoes, and anything dairy! Just do it in moderation. You could even try muscle toning. When you lose weight like that , you lose alot of muscle mass. So try push ups and small weigt lifting. You will get back to normal. And as far as periods, just got to your O.B. and ask him or her if you have anything wrong there. A month or two of biirth control could fix that. Dramatic weight loss takes a hard toll on your body and it is hard to recover. Trust Me! I was there! It took me 2 years to get back to normal. But good luck hun, I hope I was help.

You know what, maybe it runs in your family. I only know one person in my life and she is 26 and she has never had a period in her life and she is sooooo greedy and doesn't gain a pound! I can't think of what it is that she has but it's not really a disease per say. Some people are just like that yanno? They can eat, eat & eat and not gain a pound but as long as you continue to go to the doctor and get regular check-ups and everything is fine, then I wouldn't worry about it. I know there is a fear of having dieabtes because you probably are thinking that since there is no fat being stored, then maybe a whole bunch of sugar is being stored. Also, are you highly active? Do you play sports or exercise strenously? If so, then that's probably why you're small. Hope this helps.

107 is okay for your height. As long as you are eating healthy, your actual weight (within the normal range) is not an issue. It sounds like your body has simply set its perfect weight and is sticking to it. The body will work like mad to maintain the "perfect weight" it has determined.
Just stay healthy and be happy that you are naturally thin.
