Humus is in the topsoil it is the decomposed leaves, twigs and other things that have fallen to the ground. Micro organizims break down the material and turns it into humus.

When I was in High School. I took Horticulture classes. And if I remember correctly it is in the topsoil. Good luck!

it is in the topsoil, because humus is decayed plant material, like dead leaves and such. that's why gardeners' rave about great topsoil, rich in nutrients and yummy vitamins!

Topsoil....humus is actually made from naturally composted leaf liter, fallen branches etc....

Humas soil is woods soil, rotted leaves and loam that has naturally decayed over time. If you want free humas soil go to the woods and dig like our ancestors did before garden centers!!!!!!!!
