In Part I, I suggested Step I of the illegal immigration problem should be Discarding the Minimum Wage.

In this part, Step II: Tie welfare to doing the work "that no one but the illegals will do."

What is your opinion? And what do you propose for Step III?

I have a very thorough understanding of welfare, actually.

And it is absolutely a fallacy to suggest that most AFDC (TANF) recipients are already working.

Sean (ahmed, w/e), there is absolutely nothing bigoted about the issue of illegal immigration. Just answer the question, or don't.

Is it wise to continue to allow the government access to our workplace? Isn't the illegal alien the technical criminal? And what about their false id's?

This is the main reason this is a 3 Step idea.

How do you deport the parents of legal US citizens (born in the US)?

Ri, your idea looks surprising similar to Bush's "guest worker program."

Anarchy, you get very little dispute from me, I believe daycare is part of welfare, and if daycare is good enough for me, well then...

Getting people who are on welfare to do that work that "no American will do" (which is such a lie an oxymoron in itself, a lie purported by those foolish to somehow support illegal immigration) would be a great benefit. That way our tax dollars aren't getting funneled into some bum's pocket without him putting at least something back into the economy. This would help reduce jobs available for them (hell, theres 12 to 20 million illegals in the US today. That's alot of jobs. And yet people complain about unemployment!). But economics aside, the biggest threat is terrorism and terrorists, who can so easily shave their beard, take on a Mexican name, and sneak into the country.

I feel the need to address a few flaws
#1 There is not any work that Americans wont do, there is just work that pays so little that it is avoided because you can not live on it!

#2 How will disposing of the minimum wage help with #1

#3 The avearage welfare recipient is a 27 year old working white woman with 2 children

#4 To overcome the obstacle of illegals staying here, their children born here should not become automatic citizens

#5 The laws are already on the books- jail a few employers for hiring illegals and soon they wont have jobs or a reason to come here

#6 Bush's guest worker plan only addresses symptoms, not the problem

#7 When people apply for welfare, school or go to the hospital, they should have to verify their right to be here (we as citizens get asked for proof) If they are not legal, send them to a detention camp under hard labor.

#8 They are not citizens, they have no rights

#9 Employers have a responsibility to know who they are hiring Hold them accountable. (I know I said this once, but it is important enough I said it again)

I think our immigration laws are so outdated as to be almost useless. I think the new law should read that any child born to parents where either of the two are not illegal citizens should not be granted citizenship status. The illegal immigrants in America know and understand the laws, and the solution to this is simple... if you are not legal, don't have kids here. Then the issue of deportation is simple... send them all back.

i do not see how eliminating the minimum salary can help the unlawful immigration problem, in the journey that they are making use of pretend files they are being offered as American and the regulation holds. in the journey that they are operating less than the radar on a money foundation then they don't look to be regulated with information from our guidelines. This non-regulation enables rampant hiring of the illegals for far less money/better earnings, acceptable on each and each and every side, and minimum salary turns into moot. It also works to convey the salary pool down for the valid workers. (it truly is what's occurring in my state).

After the wage pool has been lowered because people can hire the illegals for less, the Legal Americans won't be able to afford to work in America or afford to buy anything. I can imagine what that would do to business and services and manufacturing.

Discarding the minimum wage would hurt more people than help.

First of all, remember that our country is over 8 trillion dollars in debt. I say use the ILLEGAL immigrants to pay off that debt.

1) Give them the chance to buy a temporary work permit for 100 dollars...this would include any of their children for the purpose of going to school. It would be valid for 1 year. They would be required to buy one every year to work in the US or go to school in the US. In essence, with over 12 million illegal immigrants, we are looking at 1,200,000,000 a year.

They would be required to pay taxes, which would be a total of 4-5,000 a year on the average. 480,000,000,000 dollars a year. They would be required to keep their noses clean and get valid driver's licenses, as well as pay insurance...

2) After 5 years, they could buy a green card for a straight fee of 500 dollars. 6,000,000,000 dollars.

Think, we could have half of our national debt paid off in 5 years!!!

I suggest voting for someone that would insure all immigrants go thru the process of becoming a US Citizen the legal way, and to directly secure our borders

What about the problem that most, well nearly all people on welfare have some form of employment already? Do you even understand the welfare system? So sending the blind, diabetic with no feeling in his hands and feet to dig ditches is a good idea. Understand the program before you try to change it.

I work 2 jobs, in my second/weekend job I come in contact with many residents of section 8 housing projects, over 80% have menial jobs, but just cant afford to keep up. If they get a better job, and make just a bit more they lose their assistance, but still don't make enough to live without it. Catch the welfare cheaters, let the rest of them alone.

the reason the illegals are doing work "no one else wants to do" is because once they start infiltrating a jobsite, they drive down the wages, dont speak english, and are really rascist towards others who areent latino...who the heck would want to work in that..???
