Would you pick an older ballad type song to 'showcase' your voice... or would you pick a more modern and upbeat song that doesn't necessarily showcase your voice or your range, but has a better "feel good" factor? What song would you go in with?

if i was singing at the x factor auditions, i think id try to keep it quite funky and up beat,id stay away from oldies and ballards, when u have your song try and change it slightly to make it ur own,the judges seem to like that, well sometimes anyway, good luck to u if u have the guts to do it ,personaly i couldent do it my nerves would get right in the way,and if i got ripped into by the judges i dont think i could handle it,any way have fun.

I would go with a song that definetly showcases ur vocal talent, thats what they are looking for but do look for a ballad that hasn't really been used in the shows before because they will have heard the same songs all day before u go in. Good luck

The judges always seem to be harsher with contestants who sing ballads, and they are continuously asking for more contemporary upbeat songs at audition. I'd go for one of those.

Sing whatever you are most comfortable with. I know a couple people been to the auditions in past and didnt get past first round. Good luck

deffo dont pick a song which is younger than u as this can make you look a fool try singing summertime previous contestants have done that song and all the judges seemed to like it

Well, I am a bit of a pop tart, but if I was a bit older I would choose 'black velvet', because it's not so old that people don't know it, everyone likes it, it's a classic, and boy do you have to be able to sing to do it justice!
