hi it is good that you are planning for mba. you have to consider your age also. if you are below 25 years go head by doing MBA if you are above 25 years then join in any company and do your MBA as part time course with this you will get a degree and work experience also.

but if you are below 25 years, going for job now only is not correct.becuase the basis needs of the company is a Post graduate. so you have time to gain that. good luck

Are you sure you want to do an MBA? You can also do a short term course in Finance. They have courses in various finance fields. These courses are normally 2-3 months long. Institutes like Imarticus Learning offer placement assistance as well so you can join a top firm within months! Visit their website: www.imarticus.org

There are pros and cons for either alternative. However, I took the route of returning to do my MBA three years after graduating from college and it worked out great for me, both during my graduate studies and thereafter, for many years during my career.

The pros:

1. Working for several years first gives you the experience to relate to the business subjects you'd be studying. Young people coming to the MBA program directly from college have no real life experience to relate to the case studies in the graduate courses.

2. Working experience gives you ideas of which area of studies you really want to concentrate on from to opposite directions: the areas that you love to spend you carrer on and want to know more or the areas that give you the most difficulties and you need to know more. Also the areas that you though you'd love but, after having actual expereince, you do not want to spend your career pursuing them...

3. Working first gives you the maturity to appreciate the opportunity for furthering your education. That's why some people who just barely get into the MBA program due to their lackluster undergraduate grades, excell at the graduate level even more than those who did much better during their undergraduate years.

4. If you plan well, you'd have saved some money from your working years to finance your graduate studies, relieving you from the financial pressure of having to take out more loans or relying on your parents.

5. After you've received your MBA , you'd have had several years of working experience in addition to it so you'd be more desirable to prospective employers than those who had no experience

The cons:

- The older you get, the harder it is to absorb or retain new materials. You won't be as quick as sharps as those three years your junior.
- It's more difficult to get back to the classroom and study routine after three years away from it. You may want to take an evening course here and there during your working years to stay in touch with the routines.
- After having lived on a decent professional's salary, it'd be hard to revert to the frugal ways of living as a student again. You may want to set aside quite a bit of money during your working years to spend during your MBA study years so that your standard of living will be more even throughout.
- You'll have to fight inertia. After having settled comfortably in a job that they like, many people will not want to leave it to go back to school. That's why, many people in America now enroll in the various evening MBA programs and still keep their full time jobs.
It's a good alternative for many but not all. Some find it difficult to spend all their free time in the classroom or doing their homework
after puttiing in a full day's work.
