personally i think boise st is ranked to high in the final ap top 25.i mean they only played one ranked team all season and that was the last game of the year for them.sure they beat oklahoma and deserve to be ranked, but #5 c'mon.maybe # 7 or 8.there are 5 schools below them in the rankings that have strenght of schedule on their side.all i'm saying is u dont rank a team that has played nobody ahead of teams that play other ranked teams.
what are ur thoughts?

i never said boise st is not a good team........i am just asking why reward a team for playing the weakest schedule above teams who play ranked oppenents week end and week out.louisville played 3 ranked teams and lost to one of them, but yet boise st played nevada and outranks louisville.........dont make sense to me

WOW!! Judging form some of these answers, the Boise St. band wagon must be overflowing!
Boise St. is NOT a championship caliber team. They play in the WAC, simple as that.
Until they start playing some tough competition in their non-conference games they will continue to be in this position (and yes brian g they do decide their own schedule).
Everyone seems to forget that we've heard all this crap before about Boise St., if you remember they had the longest undefeated streak in the nation until last season (close to 30 straight I think).
THEY ARE NOT THE BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY, THEY DO NOT DESERVE THEIR RANKING, THEY ARE HYPED UP MEDIA DARLINGS!!!

In reading these answers I couldn't help but get irritated! If Florida beats Ohio St. then Boise St. probably will not win the National Championship. Do they deserve it probably not. I watched the game, and all of you on here saying that Boise State got lucky or they barely won, didn't watch the game. Yes they barely won, but they absolutely had complete control of the game! From the time they put points on the board OU never looked to be deserving of beating a team which appeared better! OU tied the game, and then took the lead on an interception. That is great, but it wasn't over at that point. If you watched the highlights and said BSU only won because of a fluke "hook-and-ladder" then you missed a hell of a game! Boise State opened a ton of eyes, and I love it! I give Boise State 2 years to step it up. I don't care what conference they are in, the non conference games need to be tougher! Hawaii, and Oregon State are a good start, but in that conference they need to play 4 strong non conference games! If after these next 2 years the strength of schedule don't show improvement, then no more BCS for a team that can easily go undefeated in conference every year. Boise State belongs in the WAC like Michigan belongs on the same field with USC in the Rose Bowl!!! Screw you I am a Michigan Fan!!! They were unworthy of that game, we should apologize to USC!!!!

You're flat out wrong. Boise State man-handled Oregon State who beat Hawaii and USC, and finished the season with 10 wins and a #21 ranking.
Boise State was a damn good football team. Very well balanced. They should've been ranked #2 in the final poll. When the #1 gets hammered like they did, they don't just slip one spot, that's silly. Besides, Notre Dame played the same number of ranked opponents and they lost both times. Badly. And they are still in the top 15.
BSU had an unbelievable year and proved that they were probably the hottest team in college football. We all found out Michigan wasn't as good as people pretended they were too, after seeing them get spanked in the Rose Bowl.
Chad W. YOU'RE AN IDIOT!! OREGON STATE FINISHED AT 10-4. THAT'S MORE THAN "BARELY OVER .500"!!!

I would have to ask you why they didnt get a higher ranking???? they beat oregon st ( a team that beat usc ) and finished the season with out a loss. A playoff system would be the only way to fix the problem but the schools make too much money off the current bowl system to ever allow that to happen. I guess we are stuck for now with teams that will still have to take 50+ day layoffs between the end of the regular season and their bowl games

Nobody beat them, nobody. Boise St. should be ranked higher really. I mean, who did USC play, really? So what if the teams they played were ranked, they lost to UCLA and Oregon St., both barely over .500. Boise St., by the way, CRUSHED Oregon St. This is an argument that will never be solved until there is a playoff, and we know the Big 10 will never have that. If we ever do the National Champion will be from the SEC every year anyway.

I had them at 6, behind Florida, LSU, OSU, Louisville, and USC.
Sorry, but their 13-0 is equivalent to about 9-4 in a BCS conference.

I agree. too high.
Personally, I'm feeling pretty good about the Big East right now. Finished 4-0 in their bowl games, and ended the season with the 5th, 10th and 12th ranked teams. Not too bad for a conference that was supposed to be a patsy...

One word: undefeated.
Another word: upset of Oklahoma, which is a pretty good team by far the best Boise State has seen all year.

actually boise state should be number 3 they would probably still lose to florida and lsu but they would beat anyone else in the country they beat oklahoma and utah (who almost beat top 15 byu, by the way) and their conference acquitted itself very well against power conferences (see hawaii domination vs asu), florida and lsu would beat them but other than those guys boise state is #3

Undefeated.
It's very hard to do and I know this as a football player. Even if it is a fluff schedule or not. Not losing is something that is nearly impossible to pull off. I mean hell, the national champs can't even say they went undefeated. They did something that no one in the nation did.
