If you live in the UK, Limewire is illegal, I hope that you are aware of that! If you aren't in the uk, you are OK

When you download tracks from Limewire it goes into a holding file. Simply go into limewire, click onto the track, then click on explore it will then open in to the library (holding file). Once you get into the library, right click on the track and select "Open with iTunes". Or setup itunes as your default player*, and it should be able to open when the track had downloaded, select explore from the download screen and it should open into itunes.

* To set I-Tunes as your default player, go into "set program access and defaults", (which may be available on the Start Menu, or in Control Panel), click on non-Microsoft, look at media player settings and click on the drop-down menu. It will offer a list of media players, depending on what is available on your system. Simply select I-Tunes as your default player, and it should work fine.

I know this is a long way round of doing it, but once it's set up, you won't have to think about the settings again. You'll just be able to use your I-Pod in the normal way after that.

there is a seeting in limewire in the options that allows you to organise limewire with itunes, select this box and each downloaded tune will be copied to your itunes music library and then all you need to do is delete the download and transfer as you would any other mp3 to ipod
