First off, it is perfectly normal to not know what you want to do with your life just yet. I figured it out in my 3rd year of college and even then I still had insecurities. Two years after that, I finally decided it was the right path.
What you need to always look for is a career where your interests, talents and abilities can coexist. Doing something you enjoy.
In the next 4-8 years, you are going to be discovering a lot about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, interests, abilities, potential... Don't put too much pressure on yourself just yet. But when you decide on a career, you'll just know. It will feel right. Seriously trust that and just enjoy your teenage years. High school is like a bubble. When you leave it, you will discover who you truly are inside and out. RELAX! :)

do the best at everything you like. If you like guitar, play that. If you like martial arts, get a black belt. If you have a job at the supermarket that you like, become employee of the month. Do as much as you can enjoy.
As you do what you enjoy and do them well, you'll get invited to try new things.
I know people who took the classes they liked and pursued their hobbies without thinking of a career. They went to places like MIT and Cambridge, ran competitively for their national teams, etc, and now have their pick of jobs.
Then there were those who picked a job too early on and then did what career counselors told them to do. They're miserable for the most part.
You're in high school. Enjoy life.

Think of it as making a decision for NOW with the right to change your mind in the future. Most of us will have more than one career and LOTS of different jobs in our lifetimes. Choose something that brings you pleasure and pursue a goal heart and soul. You are not planning the rest of your life so much as taking a first step on a long journey. Good Luck!

I'm 30 and I still don't know what I want to do.
Just start going to college as undecided and pick a major that interests you. College is fun; much better than high school.
Most employers don't necessarily care what your degree is in...just that you have a degree. It gets your foot in the door.

Like someone said before figure out what you like and enjoy doing. Then find a job in the particular sector and see if you can maybe intern at it to make sure it is something you will like to do. Also try talking to your guidance counselor about things you like to do and see if they can steer you in the right direction. Good luck.

Get done with High School. If you can save some money and travel between high school and college . .. somewhere outside the US. Experience the world and then the answer will become clearer.

Don't trouble yourself much thinking about it...
Start as a Salesman, and you will get acquainted with huge number of people out there.
But try to sell things you like the most...
Eventually, you will get promoted on time to a Sales Executive, Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and lastly, a General Manager
WHAT MORE COULD ANYONE ASK ???

Ask your self what do I like to do in my spare time. Then see if there is a school that you could attend to make it a career.

What do you enjoy the most? Do you have a journalism class that you like? What about Drama (Theatre)? Maybe you'd like teaching? Art? Go with what you have talent and/or a love for.
