No. The trees, however, would be laughing their roots off.

Lets find out...

First we look at mimes. They pretend, in silence, to do what normal people do in real life.

Then we look at a forest. Filled with trees, bears, and now apparently, mimes.

We need to take several mimes, and tie them to a helicopter, while we have a recording apparatus on the ground. Drop the mime from a high height to minimize the sound of the helicopter. Don't worry if you miss the target...we can get more mimes. Worry even less if they bounce...this gives us a second oppurtunity to see if them make a noise.

Remove the noise from the recording of other sounds, such as birds chirping, branches breaking, and a really ticked off grizzly bear that was just beaned in the head by a mime. They are superfluous to the test. And we will know if the mime makes a noise.

Now, for this to be a true scientfic test, we will need to repeat the test under a variety of conditions. What if the mime is wearing blue face paint? What if it is raining? What if it doesn't hit a grizzly, but a wolverine? A mountain lion? Only then can we tell.

Personally, I would not like to try this. The national park service might not like the effects of mime pollution on their forests, and besides, we really don't need to be feeding wolves so much junk food.
