If you have a tape deck, you could get one of these, a standalone CD recorder for your stereo system. Looks like it goes from around $250 to $300.

There are standalone LP-to-CD machines that run about $350. Here's one for $400 (+shipping) that also takes cassette: http://www.everythingfurniture.com/crosley-104.html?ovchn=FRO&ovcpn=FROOGLE_EF&ovcrn=&ovtac=CMP

You could also send your cassettes to a place like these: http://www.cassettes2cds.com/ http://www.dak.com/reviews/2020storyt.cfm?Ref=G&PM=CACD&type=GSrch&Srh=cassette_to_cd Dunno if they will do commercial albums though, probably not.
