Yes, though others hade asked to switch places and host the show, and some have just done as they please. It is not normal for anyone to ask for a new chair. They might have when the animals were on before them and left droppings on the chair. None come to mind.

well technically Katie Couric switched places with him for a day, or something like that, and she did The Tonight Show, and he did The Today Show, remember they had the blinking lights for her legs?
