I am assuming you are talking about the USA. Well we talk loudly because we move our lips, as far as polite, some are some aren't. Excuse me I don't spit when I talk, and I'm not sure what a rude flabby gits is, but it doesn't sound very nice. What survey did you read.

You apparently don't know a lot of Americans, and you're obviously just looking to come here to insult them. My guess is that you probably have never met ANY Americans. Anyway, you've just said more about YOURSELF through that ignorant post than you've said about any American. You're so proud of yourself to come here and criticize and insult, and then you call Americans obnoxious? I don't see Americans on here saying, "Hey, what do you think of the British?" (Or Germans, or French, etc.) and then hurl insults at them. Maybe you should take a look at yourself, and consider what the words "rude" and "obnoxious" mean.
--And I've also noticed that the majority of your questions are insulting questions about Americans. What's with the obsession? I think you need to get a hobby. Find something productive to do.

Whoever took that survey never walked the streets of New York City. If you walked the streets of New York for 1 hour, you'd have enough material for years of sarcasic questions here on Y!A.

As an American, I believe we could certainy use some polish on our manners. A little humility can only help as well.
Your use of the word "git" gives you away as a Brit. I think we could take some lessons from the English.

Actually I know many American who are just that - polite and friendly.
Going to Florida was wonderful. Very different from going to a British holiday.

The survey is quite obviously botched. I've found them to be loud, arrogant, rude and in-your-face. Not all surveys are accurate, in fact I wouldn't hold any credence to surveys at all.

lol...before I read your sub-question, I was going to ask you where you got your information. All that aside, there are a lot of polite and humble people here in the US...they are the ones, if they travel, study cultures and blend in with the natives--well hidden.

They are the best most modest, most polite and caring people in the world. The world would fall apart without them.
