ok I read it in school I think its a paperback. It was about a guy who is in the desert I belive being hunted by some other guy. He makes shoes out of like a plant. I cant remember much more, maybe you do?

Sounds familiar but i cant think of the name. Does he see a jeep in the distance and sleep in the ground? I can picture the cover if its the same book
