the best videogames have a great replay value meaning that after you finish it you can replay it hundreds of times and not get bored of it..also the tend to be unique.

If you mean choose the best video game thats done by how fun the gameplay actually is to the gamer. Zelda twilight won game of the year on the wii because the gameplay was fun, not because of the graphics or visuals. (ok maybe for some visuals)

Ok...
1.) A LOT of guns. Not just like 10 but like friggin 30 or 40.
2.) 2 Violence attracts LOTS of customers.
3.) Make it a game with people enemies and SCARYASS monster enemies....
4.)A loooooonnnnnngggggggg game, that is what makes people want to buy the sequal
5.)Make it on all consoles, PC PS2, Wii,Xbox360, and PSP that is what people get angry when they dont own the specific console and they have to wait 2 years for it to come out on their console. Like gears of war. It's not comming out until the end of 2007... But look at half life 2, one of the best selling games and its on almost every console.
