Probably you mums and vilets could stand an acidic soil and the poinsettias and schefflera would prefer a more alkaline soil. If your soil ph is less than 7 you soil is acidic or if you soil is above 7 it is alkaline. Woodsy plants like blueberries or azeleas like acidic,tropicals like alkaline soil. Hope this helped!!!!!!
