You should ask the family of Harry S. Truman. He was the last president with similar approval ratings. History proves to be a better judge than public fickle opinion. Being a good leader requires the resolve to do what's in the best interest, not doing whatever polls dictate. It was Clinton's legacy to govern that way and it pleased his base. But every time Bush tires it, he not only has the libs upset, but he loses the confidence of the people who put him in power. He not the best communicator like Reagan was, so the media gets to trash an easy target. But he can't be stupid to win two elections, even if you buy into the conspiracy mania, he would have to be considered smarter than Gore or Kerry to have done it not once, but twice!

Bush lied to the American People and they bought it , hook , line and sinker . Just like they bought Reagan's voodoo economics .
The American people will vote for anyone that says that they will cut taxes , no matter how bankrupt it puts the country . Bush seemed unaware that the US Government had more then $ 4.5 trillion in unpaid bills , just from the past 20 years of excess spending ., when he came into office .
Bush , used the surplus in the Social Security Trust Fund to finance a tax cut for the rich or for increased government spending . That would be like stealing from your Mother's retirement fund to supplement your current income because Mother doesn't need it right now . So now , Bush wants to fix SS . Well he broke it , now what !!!

I say the American public has very short term memories. They never look beyond the promises the politicians make them. Everyone wants a free ride. HEY WAKE UP !!! There is no free ride. The old, poor, minorities, are all looking for help and when the man says I promise you this they believe. Such a shame that all politicians are liars and cheats.

sure, they'd do lots worse. The president has to administration as much as he has to think of. i elect somebody who can delegate to experts and get the main suitable out of them, a pacesetter. this is to not say that optimum and questioning are on a similar time unique, yet given the alternative i will actual elect the former and understand that the bureaucrats are the latter. 50% of folk do not vote, for all numbers of reasons. some would think of the gadget is broken and a few would possibly not care. for people who don't care, their determination to not vote would desire to be an illustration that the gadget isn't in as lots dissarray as you recommend. ultimately that Stalin undertaking... i can not wrap my strategies around what you attempt to tell me. Are you asserting that folk who voted for Reagan are corresponding to anti-communists and anti-fascists? would desire to or not this is that some voted for Reagan simply by fact they did not elect Mondale to advance taxes? back, i don't think of we are able to assume one source of suggestion.

Search for Federal Reserve Corporation. You'll understand why they are elected even though no one vote for them.
It's not a theory. It is how it really works.
(EDIT): The economy will crash very soon.

I think a lot of people voted with one issue. But I think most of those issues were made to seem important when they were not important at all.
And to correct the first answer, Gore got more total votes, but Kerry didn't.

Because not everyone hates him. And with this economy who can't love the guy. The media forgets to point out we are in the strongest economy and it is still growing.
