You may not know about it, since the corporate media is barely mentioning it. But they have already killed a four-year old boy, among other civilians.

Alex - quit trying to pretend America supports Bush's imperialist war of terror. The game is over.

Flaming - the Somali interim government does not have the support of the Somali people - hence the war. America is killing Somalis (again)...that's why I call it a war against Somalia.

What do I think? Sorry, but we're not supposed to use that kind of language on Yahoo Answers! LOL

Seriously, I hope Congress has the gumption to tell Bush no--and to block funding for any Somalia operations. And I am e-mailing my Congressperson and Senators to that effect.

Personally, I think what little sense Georgie had is gone--he gotta be just plain nuts.

And I notice the bushbots are out. Alex--we all know terrorism is real. The problem is that instead of fighting the terrorists, he's getting a lot of people killed in 2--now maybe 3--wars that we don't need to be in--INSTEAD of going after the terrorists. His wars are real--his "war on terror" is a fake.

The country’s transitional president, Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, said today that he had given American forces permission to carry out the strike on Sunday.
American officials have suspected for years that a handful of Qaeda suspects who were responsible for the 1998 bombings of American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania have been hiding inside Somalia, which has not had a central government since 1991.
The search for the terrorism suspects has been the driving force in American policy toward Somalia for several years.

I guess you're right, we should just forget about the "innocent" terrorists killing civilians too... Get a life, war is not pretty. I'm sorry for the four year old boy, but it's people like you who don't realize that were it not for these missions expelling terrorists who have hurt or are making plans to hurt the truly innocent, we'd all be dead.

It's not a war, it's an operation. Remember 'Black Hawk Down'? That's the region we're fighting in. I think it's laughable that Ethiopia was able to invade Magadishu and quell the Islamic insurgency while we lost a helicopter and the people whined for us to come home. It's time for a little payback against Al-Qaeda in that region, and seeing as how the local governments support our actions, how is this a bad thing?

I think it's GREAT!

The one thing we all have to understand is that this is the "Global War on Terrorism" and not a war against Afghanistan and Iraq. It's a war against Al Qaida and all who support their cause. It has no borders and therefore must be fought as such.

Al-Qaida has no where to hide that we can't hit them...

Well, except for the Wazeristan region of Pakistan....

Since he has the support of the Somalian government, I don't think it can accurately be called a war AGAINST Somalia. I think as long as it's confined to strikes against known terrorists, no problem.

Have a nice day!

Its called the Global War on Terror. Al-Qaeda was routed by Ethiopian troops and annhiliated by the US when they wanted to regroup and press forward an attack.

Basically it is the classic political bait and switch. Tomorrow the president wants to introduce his new plan for Iraq. Hmmm, how do they cloud the picture? Let's attack another country so everyone is so distracted they really don't know what the real news is.
