You probably ran the Desk Cleanup recently and told it to "compress old files". Those are the files that it compressed to attempt to make more space on your hard drive.
When a file is compressed, it takes up less space. But because it has to be uncompressed before Windows can use it, it will slow our machine. (You trade speed for space). The files are listed in blue to warn you that they are compressed.
If you were to copy a compressed to file to something like a CD, DVD, flash drive, etc., it would be uncompressed before it is copied. So the "blue" warns you that you need to be sure you have extra space on the CD or flash drive, because the file will increase in size when copied.

Nobody can tell you for sure just from the little information you have given. The possibilities are huge! Some things you might try are:
Run a couple of good anti-adware and anti-spyware programs (you can find freebies here http://www.netmorale.com/search.php?swords=adaware+spybot
Other things could be that you have some conflicting programs on your system or have hard drive errors.
