heres the deal. there's a girl in my history class that i went to hs with but she graduated a yr ahead of me. we were never friends but only b/c we never took the time to talk to one another. i dont even know if she knows who i am really am. i thought about going up to her after class and "introducing" myself. anyway a) should i & b) how should i?

and o btw, she's a really pretty girl, but i dont want her to get the wrong idea.

I think when I put that last sentence up there before people got the wrong message. I'm not romantically interested in her I just think it makes sense that we sorta buddy up for this class since we went to hs together. So now you can answer the question.

of course .. why not?
Just say "Hi I was in your history class the last year and I think it would help if I could have a friend in class in case I have to find out about homework or do a research paper with.."
The worse that can happen is she will say no.. then just move on.

You should approach her. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be friends with this girl or even being study buddies with the girl. Just approach and say excuse me but didn't you go to "Name of your High Schoo" and if she says Yes then say I think I had a class with you and just get the conversation rolling like that. Once done just say that if it wasn't a problem with her that you would like to get together with a few other people in the class to study and if thats fine with her if you could get her number for study groups etc. I hope this helps you out some Good Luck.

Why wouldn't you say something to her? The worst that can happen is that she won't be interested, but you might be surprised. In any case, if you don't ask, you'll never know. I suspect you're underrating yourself. Go for it!
