I hope you're kidding. The original thirteen colonies CREATED the union. ("We, the people of the United States of America, in order to form a more perfect union....") You're confusing the beginnings of the United States with the War Between the States (also known as the Civil War). You better get out your history book and do some concentrated reading.

Okay. You are a little mixed up. The 13 original colonies broke away from England, not each other. The original 13 were involved in the Revolutionary War, and the Union (and Confederacy) were involved in the Civil War. There is about 100 years difference there!

Unsuccessfully.

You've got your information mixed up. The original 13 colonies BECAME the union. Then, later, the south seceded (not succeed) which was the start of the civil war.

The 13 colonies succeeded in seceding from British rule and became a Union. Research the Declaration of Independence. There's a whole treasure of stuff there.

There were 11 states that seceded from the union, not the original 13 colonies. You have your history a little mixed up. I provided a link for you that list the states ,dates that they seceded and dates when they were readmitted to the Union.
Thanks for the question,it helped me find a link to a very interesting site.
