I don't see how Ohio State could still finish number two in the AP poll. I thought the AP poll was not obligated to vote in any specific order. Anyone with a brain could figure out that both LSU and USC would have destroyed OSU so how can OSU still be number 2. Are the AP writersthat stupid?

You could also maybe add Louisville, Boise St and Auburn

Sure there only loss came to the champions but it wasn't a loss it was a beat down and completely uncompetitive.

Also OSU didn't paly anyone in regular season other than Michigan and a down Texas team that didn't finish well.

Ohio State would not have won any coference other than the Big 10. They gave up 39 points to Michigan!

Extremely overrated until the very end even their #2 end ranking is a joe.

I am a little surprised that they anchor the No. 2 spot. True they only lost one game but the way in which they lost should have dropped them down more in the polls. I mean OSU has set the bar for the worst performance in a championship game. Just 82 yards of offense and a single digit quarterback rating for a Heisman Trophy winner. Such records may exist for all-time. It's just the media B.S. again. Remember to be a sports writer you have to have an IQ below 60.

The teams selected are the best based upon this entire season. Also look at the source below, it is based upon averaging virtually all (semi-legitimate) rankings (right now there are 72 rankings included and it may increase later this week) and they wound up with Ohio State and LSU as well. Ohio State based upon only one loss to a decent school in the Illinois. LSU played the most difficult schedule, their only losses coming in triple overtime to teams with legitimate Heisman candidates. Winning the SEC championship with a backup quarterback is impressive, especially with the number of injured starters that played only a limited basis. USC, only beat two teams with winning records and loosing to Stanford. Hawaii- why do you list them. They should have lost against Nevada, blind refs gave them that game. There entire schedule is a joke. I realize the WAC games are outside of their control, but if they want to be considered bigtime, they need to take their games on the road and play some of the big boys. If they manage to start winning those games, then they will prove they belong. I don't like the idea of an season ending tournament. My son is just going through that right now in high school where essentially any team that wants into the tournament is allowed in. (There may be a cap at 16 teams, but why are teams that don't win their league allowed to compete). The season is already long enough. Injuries pile up and the tournament makes the regular season meaningless. This year Georgia is complaining, but yet at best they are the 3rd place team in their league. If any tinkering is done to the current system, a plus one game is the most palatable to me as it only adds 1 additional week to the season for only two teams. Still too long, but at least the season doesn't go on forever. I'm not convinced that bowl records necessarily mean one conference is better than another. It is a slight indication, but the pairings don't always make for meaningful games. Example, you have the third place ACC (Virginia) team playing the 5th place Big 12 (Texas Tech)team or the ACC Champion (Virgina Tech) playing 3rd place Big 12 (Kansas) It probably means something between conferences if the lower placed team wins, but if the higher placed team, it just confirms that they were higher, which was already known.

OSU lost one game, went undefeated throughout the regualr season something not even the champion Florida can even say. Oh wait don't forget that USC lost to two unranked teams in UCLA and Oregon St, something I highly doubt OSU would have done. Plus, LSU had only 4 road games this season against tough oppenents, losing two, but what about all those other games against Fresno St, Ole Miss, Louisiana-Lafayette, Arizona, Tulane, Mississippi St, Kentucky and Bama. And you say LSU should be number two or USC. Shame on you for not understanding that Ohio State had fewer losses, undefeated in regular season, heismann winner, Big Ten title, and only fell to the hands of Florida who is now the national champ. You guys are insane to think otherwise.

Why wouldnt they be #2. They only lost to the natl champions while both LSU and USC werent even good enough to play in the natl title game. And dude just because Florida whoop them, it doesn't mean LSU and USC wouldve done the same.

Their only loss came from the National Champs, the champs can't even say that.
