you could build for $15,000.00 but you will need friends and family to help with the labor.you could also build a cob house pretty cheaply.

If you are asking if you can build a house for $15,000 the answer is a very, very small one. Do you own the lot? Mobile home may be the way to go at this point.

where do you live. there is now way in **** that i could build a house for that and i can do all the work myself. i live on vancouver island. i couldnt even buy the materials for that amount. even to buy a old run down mobile will cost you 100,000 plus just for the mobile no land. .I just renovated a batheroom that cost me 6000 just for the materials. keep in mind i gutted it and replaced everything to what i wanted. could of got away with about 5000 if i did it cheaply and had a everyday run of the mill batheroom.
for 15,000 the only thing one could get here is an old beat up run down R.V. that would need a bunch of work.

I would also say a mobile home is the best option at this point. The only thing to consider is where you will park it. Most trailer parks charge a monthly maintenance, or land lease of at least $200 - $500. You should make sure to look into any monthly parking fees before commiting.
Good luck!

You could buy one, but you would most likely have to pay cash because banks will not finance an older mobile home, and it will cost you a bundle to insure it.

if you purchase a mobile home, understand a couple of things. first they depreciate a lot just like a car. they will NOT build escrow! also depending on where you live they can be VERY expensive to insure!!
