I had been looking forward to it since the CBC started promoting it. I did watch it, and I thought it was great. What better way to create a window into another culture than a light hearted comedy which shows our similarities and differences alike.

A show like this would not go over well in the USA. When is the last time you have even seen a Muslim character on American Network TV?

I can't wait to see it; the promos are totally funny - especially those that ran during the Pirates of the Caribbean a few weeks ago.
Do you watch Corner Gas? I'm from Sask. and we all totally love it. I think Little Mosque will be the same thing - of course it will be full of stereotypes but done with fun, which is how they are meaning it. It won't show "exactly" what Muslim families are like, no more than Corner Gas is "exactly" what us prairie people are all about.
Just shows once more how gutsy Canadian comedy can be....

I might watch it, but if I got the impression that it was somehow biased/slanted or skewing or exaggerating things, then I'd turn it off. I would be more receptive to watching it if it was done in the form of a documentary on like the History Channel or Discovery, where things seem to be presented pretty objectively, than if it was on a news-type network that often come across as biased.

Yeah, I'd watch it because:

1. the reviews have universally been pretty positive, and;
2. I know the executive producer and he's a great guy. The writer, too, a Muslim woman here in Regina, is terrific.

I'm going to watch it because everyone is making a big deal about it so I want to see what all the fuss is about. There's no point brainwashing me though, I'm already Muslim.
