Mobster in Vegas. He was food and beverage manager at the Stardust (it was a fake title). Casino was a movie about him and his friends but the changed the name of the Casino to Tangiers.

Not sure if it is the same person, but Sam Ralston is a Conservation specialist and well known for his work with preserving the wet lands from developing companies
