say if you wanted to move far away, too far u cant really visit it to make sure if you want it or not...would you go to the city you wanna move to and stay in a hotel there, buy newspapers to see if there is any houses for rent there or would you get a house before you went the city you wanna move to making sure you can move into it before you go to the city...what i dont get is how would you find a house you want in another city if your like 3 days away from that place

You should go visit, stay at a hotel, and then look at homes. You should be able to look up the properties for rent online and set appointments to meet with landlords before you even get there.

I wouldn't rent sight unseen, because you have no idea of the condition of the property or the neighborhood, and you could end up in a place where you don't want to be, with an entire year that you have to live there.

I'd rent first... especially since you will need to get to know the neighborhoods. Then, you can decide what is best for you based on convenience, entertainment, quiet, etc.

i would look for a realtor in that city. they will know the market and the area.
