I think it would have been pretty much the same but it would have taken alot longer to get overpopulated because of the big size.

An interesting question, but a few other factors need to be included to make an opinion. Aside from the fact that the planets you mentioned are gaseous (rather than solid like Mercury, Mars and Earth) if life could exist in such an environment, that alone would have significant influence on a society. Assuming you meant that the planet would still be solid and have a similar atmosphere as Earth, what would the ratio between land and water be? For instance, we have the benefit of knowing Earth's land:water ratio which would also have an influence on culture (proximity). Given what we know about population growth, would this factor be relative to the size of this larger planet?
