We were storing our dresser with masking tape holding the drawers closed for two years. You can imagine that now we cannot remove the tape. Any ideas on how to remove the masking tape from the dresser?

Any type of oil based product will help, even butter. Just take some corn oil, olive oil or butter and put it onto a cotton ball of equivalent. Rub slowly over the tape until the tape is saturated with it and peel off.

There is also a product out called Googone specifically for this type of problem.

There is goo gone and there is a product called Goof off. Goo gone works great on the sticky part but goof off will remove the tape and the sticky stuff.

There are hundreds of uses for WD-40, this is actually one of them. The WD-40 website says it will take off duct tape residue, stickers from credit cards and removes melted scotch tape from dining room tables so I'll bet it will take this off as well. You may even have some around your house.

Lemon oil or furniture polish will clean the tape off. Let it soak for a little while to loosen. Don't use solvents as they will damage the finish.
