I had to spend time alone but busy. When I moped with nothing to occupy my mind, I made no progress. Small moments of clarity slowly dawned, over time. I could not rush it. Patience to let myself evolve was required. This is what worked for me; I cannot speak for anyone else.

I go on a long walk, usually in the freezing cold and pouring rain. It helps to clear your mind.
