Lighting fixtures which are used in the bathroom are supposed to be rated as suitable for use in damp or wet locations, and must be marked as such. If you intend to install a lighting fixture in the shower, it has to be made for that purpose, and it can NOT be connected by a cord. You are not allowed to use an open light fixture in the shower. Track lighting, and other types of light fixtures which are subject to problems from moisture accumulation in damp areas (bathrooms) are also prohibited. I am not sure exactly what kind of fitures that you were sold, but based upon what you have said, they do not sound like they are appropriate for use in a bathroom (especially not in the shower). You should return the fixtures that you bought, and get the proper ones. I would speak to another sales person (somebody who is more knowledgeable). If you need more help, provide more info about the type of light fixtures that you bought, and I will try to assist you. Good luck with your project.

i think the sales person told you what you wanted to hear. dont put those lights even in the bathroom, let alone near or in a shower. take them back and get what you know is right, your sixth sense is trying to tell you they arent right or you wouldnt be questioning it.
